A key section of the Blackmans Bay coastal footpath will be closed from today, Monday 10 August, for approximately two weeks to allow for significant upgrades.

Kingborough Council announced the temporary closure for the path between Wells Parade and Ocean Esplanade. The council stated the closure is necessary for the safe installation of new lighting and to improve footpath access in the area.

The works are intended to enhance safety and accessibility for the many residents and visitors who use the popular track. Kingborough Council has asked for the public’s patience while the improvements are carried out.

No specific detours have been announced, but pedestrians will need to find alternative routes around the closed section for the duration of the works. The project is part of a broader schedule of maintenance and capital works projects being undertaken by the council across the municipality.
