Clarence City Council has announced the establishment of a new Resource Recovery HUB, dubbed the “Recycle Wall,” located at its Council Chambers in Rosny Park. The initiative, announced on Monday, August 31, 2026, aims to provide residents with a convenient drop-off point for everyday household items that are not accepted in standard yellow-lid kerbside recycling bins.
The Recycle Wall is situated in the entrance foyer of the Council Chambers at 38 Bligh Street, Rosny Park. This new facility is designed to make it easier for people to recycle specific items that still hold value, ensuring they are given a second life through specialist recycling programs.
According to Clarence City Council, the introduction of the Recycle Wall is a step towards reducing landfill waste and recovering valuable and useful materials that might otherwise be discarded. The Council stated that this effort contributes to moving towards a more circular economy and helps meet its sustainable goals.
Residents can bring a variety of items to the Recycle Wall, including X-rays, glasses and eyewear, toys, CDs and DVDs, coffee capsules, cables and cords, pens and markers, and blister packs.
The Council has emphasised that the Recycle Wall is intended for small household quantities only. Residents are advised to bring items in amounts such as a handful, a few items, or a small bag. To ensure proper recycling, Clarence City Council also noted that any items left on the floor or dropped off outside of opening hours may not be recycled.
This new facility complements existing waste and recycling services provided by the City of Clarence, offering an additional avenue for residents to responsibly dispose of items that require specialised handling beyond typical kerbside collection.
