Clarence City Council has announced it will host a community walk at Rosny Farm on Saturday, October 3, 2026, to mark Mental Health Week. The event, titled “Step it out for Mental Health Week 2026,” aims to foster connection and promote positive mental health within the Eastern Shore community.

Mental Health Week runs from October 3 to October 11, and the walk at Rosny Farm is scheduled from 11am to 1pm. Participants are encouraged to wear their brightest and most colourful clothes for a morning of fun and engagement.

The event will feature a range of activities designed to bring people together, including a free BBQ, coffee, and live music. There will also be various activities and prizes awarded for the most colourful and brightest outfits. The community walk itself will take place on the new Rosny Parklands Circuit Track.

According to Clarence City Council, the initiative seeks to increase awareness about mental health, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and encourage open conversations about mental health and wellbeing. The event supports the Mental Health Council of Tasmania’s “Appreciate the Little Things Campaign,” which encourages individuals to slow down, find calm, and appreciate the small moments that bring happiness.

In a commitment to community support, Lifeline Tasmania will be present on the day to provide in-person mental health assistance. The Council stated that this event aligns with its broader Community Wellbeing Strategy 2022 – 2032, which outlines various programs and initiatives throughout the year aimed at enhancing community health and wellbeing.

Residents are welcome to attend the free event at Rosny Farm, located at Rosny Hill Road, Rosny Park. More information about the Mental Health Week Walk can be found on the Clarence City Council website.
