The major upgrade to Davies Road in Lower Snug is nearing its final stages, with Kingborough Council’s works schedule indicating a completion date of 30 June 2026.
A council announcement stated that line marking would be the final step in the reconstruction project. The upgrade was described as significant for the area by Acting Mayor Christian Street.
According to Kingborough Council’s public works information, the project involved the full reconstruction of the road. In addition to the new road surface, the works included the installation of new stormwater drainage and the construction of a new footpath to improve pedestrian access and safety in the area.
The council’s schedule lists the project as having commenced on 1 October 2025, culminating in a nine-month construction period.
Councillor Christian Street has been serving as Acting Mayor since late May 2026, following the resignation of former mayor Paula Wriedt.
