Clarence City Council has highlighted the 2026 Clarence Open Art Exhibition at Rosny Farm as an activity for families looking for things to do during the July school holidays. The exhibition, which is free to attend, is being held in The Schoolhouse and The Barn galleries at the Rosny Park cultural centre.
The biennial exhibition showcases work from Tasmanian artists at all stages of their careers, according to the council’s website. The accepted mediums for the exhibition include painting, photography, digital media, printmaking, and drawing. The 2026 exhibition is scheduled to run from Friday, 10 July, until Sunday, 2 August.
The Rosny Farm Arts Centre, which includes the two gallery spaces, is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 11 am and 5 pm. The historic site features the early 19th-century Rosny Barn and a replica 19th-century schoolhouse which serves as the Schoolhouse Gallery.
In addition to the free exhibition, the council is also promoting several paid art workshops for children at Rosny Farm later in the month. These include an air-dry clay workshop on 22 July and a drawing workshop on 23 July.
The council’s announcement also pointed to other activities across the city to keep children entertained, including programs run by Clarence City Council Youth Services and outdoor options like walking or cycling the Lindisfarne to Montagu Bay track or exploring Waverley Flora Park.
The Clarence Open Art Exhibition is a long-running event in the city. An official opening and prize announcement for the 2026 exhibition was scheduled for Sunday, 12 July. Prizes are awarded for the overall winner, as well as for winners in each of the five medium categories.
