A Glenorchy man has been charged with wounding following an alleged family violence incident at a Goodwood home in the early hours of Wednesday, 1 July.
Tasmania Police said in a statement that a woman in her early 20s sustained a non-life-threatening knife wound to her upper leg.
According to the police media release, uniformed officers were called to the private residence at about 2am. Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for further care.
Police said they located a 40-year-old Glenorchy man a short time later in the nearby suburb of Glenorchy, where he was arrested and taken into custody.
In addition to the charge of wounding, the man has also been charged with three counts of breaching a Police Family Violence Order and two counts of breaching bail conditions.
Tasmania Police confirmed the man was detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
It is a legal principle that any person charged with an offence is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
