According to reports from Fox Sports and the AFL’s official website, the final score was 10.13 (73) to Richmond’s 6.12 (48). North Melbourne’s Cooper Trembath was a standout, kicking four goals. The AFL’s report noted that Harry Sheezel was also influential for the Kangaroos with 31 disposals. The win improves North Melbourne’s record to seven wins and seven losses for the season.
Fox Sports reported that the match was a “monotonous clash,” with scoring being “labour-intensive” for both sides. Richmond was level at quarter time but fell away in the third term, Fox Sports noted.
In the later game at Marvel Stadium, the Western Bulldogs secured an 83-61 victory over St Kilda, as reported by Fox Sports.
The Saints suffered significant injury setbacks during the match. Fox Sports reported that Jack Sinclair was ruled out of the game in the first quarter with a calf injury. Later, Tom De Koning was also ruled out at half time with a rib injury, according to the Fox Sports live blog.
