Kingborough Council is asking for community feedback on how it communicates with residents. The council has launched a public consultation to understand how people prefer to access information and stay informed about local matters.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said the feedback will help shape how the council shares information and engages with the community. “Everyone connects with Council differently,” Cr Street said in a statement released by Kingborough Council. “Some people prefer to get their information through social media, while others rely on our website, newsletters, local media or face-to-face conversations.”
The council is seeking to ensure its communication channels are effective and that information is easy for residents to find. According to the council, the goal is to improve how and where it shares information and to better tailor communications to suit different needs and preferences.
Cr Street stated the importance of accessible information on various topics. “Whether it’s information about community projects, road works, events, services or emergency updates, it’s important that people can easily find the information they need,” he said.
Kingborough Council has invited all residents to participate, regardless of how frequently they engage with the council.
The consultation is being conducted through a survey that the council says takes a few minutes to complete. Residents can fill out the survey online. For those who prefer a physical copy, paper surveys are available from the Kingborough Council Civic Centre.
The feedback period is open until 10 August 2026. Kingborough Council has stated the feedback will be used to review and improve its communication with the community.
