Kingborough Council has announced its popular winter event, Night of Lights, will return on Friday, 10 July, at the Kingborough Community Hub in Kingston.
In a statement, Kingborough’s Acting Mayor Christian Street said the Night of Lights is a highlight of the community calendar. The free event will run from 5pm to 8pm and is designed for all ages, according to details published by the council.
The evening’s festivities will begin at 5pm with live music from Dave Wane, along with a silent disco, henna art, face painting, and various food trucks, Kingborough Council said. A magic show for children with Daryl Peebles is scheduled for 5:30pm.
A lantern parade is set to be a central feature of the evening, commencing at 6pm. Following the parade, the Fyrebird Flow Collective will perform a fire twirling display on the lawns at 6:30pm.
The entertainment will continue with cultural performances, including Rhythmz Bollywood dance at 7pm and a show by Eternal Performing Arts at 7:20pm, the council’s schedule shows.
