A 31-year-old man is receiving medical treatment after an incident in Moonah on Wednesday night where he sustained a single gunshot wound.
Tasmania Police said in a media release that they received a report at about 9:25 pm on 8 July that a person had been shot in the hand inside a shed on Charles Street. The man was subsequently transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment, police confirmed.
According to the police statement, it is believed two other people, who were known to the injured man, were also at the location when the incident occurred. No one else at the property was injured.
As of Thursday morning, investigations were ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the man sustaining the gunshot wound.
