Clarence City Council has publicised several new development applications for suburbs across Hobart’s Eastern Shore, with plans for commercial and residential projects now open for public comment. The proposals were detailed in the Tasmanian Government Gazette released on 5 August 2026.
In Cambridge, an application has been lodged for a warehouse and contractors yard at 21 Abernant Way, according to the council’s list of advertised plans.
A commercial premises in Bellerive could be converted into a health service, with the council reviewing a proposal for a change of use to a physiotherapy clinic at 3/5 Clarence Street.
The council is also considering multiple residential developments. Applications for new single dwellings have been submitted for 10 Achaderry Court in Howrah, and for two separate properties in Rokeby at 101 Tollard Drive and 60 Dolina Drive.
Further south, a significant rezoning and subdivision is under consideration for 22 Goodwins Road, Clarendon Vale. The proposal seeks to rezone land from rural and utilities to general residential, inner residential, and open space to make way for a 78-lot subdivision, according to the council notice.
The Clarence City Council has advertised the plans and invited written submissions from the public. According to the council’s website, the closing date for representations on the Cambridge, Bellerive, Howrah, Rokeby, and Clarendon Vale proposals is 10 August 2026, while submissions for the 60 Dolina Drive and Bellerive physiotherapy clinic applications close on 12 August 2026.
