Tasmania Police are calling for witnesses after a serious single-vehicle crash in the state’s north left a man with critical injuries.
In a statement released on Tuesday, 30 June, police said they are investigating a crash involving a silver Subaru station wagon that occurred on Saturday, 27 June, outside 1866 Pipers River Road at Lower Turners Marsh.
According to Tasmania Police, the incident was reported to them on Monday, 29 June. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to the Launceston General Hospital before being flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital to be treated for serious head injuries. Police confirmed the man remains in a critical condition.
Investigators are now working to piece together the circumstances of the crash and are urging anyone who may have seen the silver Subaru station wagon in the area on Saturday to come forward. Police said they are particularly interested in speaking with members of the public who stopped at the scene to provide assistance to the driver.
Anyone who was travelling on Pipers River Road in the early afternoon of Saturday, 27 June, is asked to check any dashcam or mobile phone footage they may have.
