A Queenstown man has been charged with multiple drug and firearm offences after a targeted police search of his property on Wednesday, 8 July.
In a media release issued today, Tasmania Police said officers from Queenstown executed a search warrant at the property. During the search, police located and seized a number of items.
Police allege they found two homemade firearms, firearm parts, gel blasters, illicit drugs and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene. Tasmania Police confirmed he was later charged with multiple firearm and drug offences.
The man was granted bail and is scheduled to appear before the Queenstown Magistrates Court on 7 September.
It is a requirement of the law that any person charged with an offence is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Tasmania Police stated they “remain committed to addressing the unlawful possession and manufacture of firearms, and the supply and possession of illicit drugs to help reduce harm and enhance community safety”.
