Three people are facing drug trafficking charges following two separate police operations in the Launceston area over the weekend.
Tasmania Police said in a statement on Monday that the arrests were part of recent targeted operations.
In the first incident, police from the Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit and the Criminal Investigation Branch arrested a 42-year-old Ravenswood man on Friday, 26 June. Police allege a significant quantity of methylamphetamine, also known as ice, was seized at a property in South Launceston. The man was detained to appear in court and was subsequently remanded, Tasmania Police said.
A second, separate operation on Sunday, 28 June, resulted in two more people being charged. According to the police statement, members of Taskforce Raven executed a search warrant at a Ravenswood address.
During that search, police allege they located and seized quantities of methylamphetamine and liquid GHB. They also allege they found a significant quantity of stolen property and cash, which they believe to be the proceeds of crime.
A 29-year-old Ravenswood woman and a 49-year-old Rocherlea man were arrested and have each been charged with trafficking, Tasmania Police confirmed. They are scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in September.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
