Tasmania Police has charged three people in relation to an alleged aggravated armed robbery at a bottleshop in a Glenorchy shopping centre on Tuesday, 7 July.
In a media release issued Wednesday evening, police alleged that at about 4:00 pm, three people entered the store and stole a quantity of alcohol. Police further alleged that a staff member from the business was assaulted during the incident.
The staff member received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at the Royal Hobart Hospital, according to the police statement.
Tasmania Police confirmed that a 19-year-old man from Warrane, a 21-year-old man from Chigwell, and a 17-year-old youth have been charged with aggravated armed robbery. All three were detained to appear in court on 9 July.
It is a court’s role to determine guilt, and any person charged with an offence is presumed innocent until found guilty.
