Tasmania Police are investigating a serious two-motorcycle crash in Cambridge that occurred on Sunday, 05 July 2026, resulting in two men being transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
According to a media release from Tasmania Police, emergency services were called to Richmond Road at approximately 2:05 pm. The crash involved two motorcycles, a black Honda CMX and a black Suzuki VLR, which police said collided near the address of 287 Richmond Road. Both motorcycles were reportedly heading towards Cambridge at the time of the incident.
The rider of the Honda, a 56-year-old man, was taken to hospital with what police described as minor injuries. The second rider, a 55-year-old man on the Suzuki, sustained serious injuries and was also transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment, Tasmania Police stated.
Reporting from Pulse Tasmania noted that the road was closed between Cambridge and Richmond for a period following the crash, with motorists advised to avoid the area while emergency services cleared the scene.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash. In their statement, Tasmania Police asked for anyone who may have seen the crash itself, or either of the two motorcycles beforehand, to come forward.
