Tasmania Police have charged two youths in relation to an alleged armed robbery at a bottle shop in Howrah, which occurred about 7:40 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Police allege that the youths entered the premises and stole a quantity of alcohol.
During the incident, police further allege that the staff member was assaulted, and one of the youths threatened the worker while in possession of a knife.
A 15-year-old youth has been charged with stealing with force, common assault, and unlawful possession of property, according to Tasmania Police. A second 15-year-old has also been charged with common assault.
A third youth, who was taken into custody in connection with the incident, was subsequently released without charge. Tasmania Police confirmed that the staff member involved in the alleged incident was not seriously injured.
